There was a break from painting between 1998 and 2007 because the chemistry of multiple factors. One significant event was his move from one continent to another.

From fall 2007, in his studio in Stonington, Connecticut, he is back to what he calls “his pictorial sailing”. To paint and to sail remain the core of his work, his life.

In the past, Walperswyler painting offered a perspective and he would anticipate sailing from this point. Today, his painting experience is enriched by other influences. Books and writing have become the third element of survival. Books, the Sea, and Painting form the chronology in the necessity “to do”.
