Colonnes, portes et " capteurs d'énergie " sont autant des dispositifs mémoriels du peintre que des seuils ouvrant à des perceptions nouvelles. La Colonne s'érige depuis le sol et s'élance vers le ciel. Signe de puissance, elle avoue sa faiblesse dans son fût évidé qui abrite traits d'or, zébrures et trophées de la nature. Bleue et fraîche, elle nous tend le miroir des eaux fondamentales. Rouge, elle flamboie des forces du centre de la terre... When she abandons the framed space of the picture, Claire-Lise Renaud's work literally raises itself before the spectator's eyes. Columns, doors and "energy sensors" represent as many memory devices as thresholds opening on new perceptions. The Column erects itself from the ground, soaring skywards. Though a sign of power, its hollow shaft that shelters golden lines, streaks and natural trophies, makes its weakness clear. When blue and cool, it is like the mirror of the fundamental waters.
