Née à Genève en 1951 T
ravail et vit à Satigny - Genève
Architecte de formation, elle quitte le métier pour se consacrer à la peinture.
Elle suit des cours dans différentes écoles avec un travail académique qui débouche
sur des "carnets de voyages", souvenirs tirés de voyages en Asie. Elle étudie l'histoire
de l'art à l'Université de Genève.
Après plusieurs années a l'école des Arts Visuels de Genève, elle complétera sa
formation par des stages de gravures.

Born in Geneva in 1951
Lives and works in Satigny (canton of Geneva), Switzerland.
An architect by training, Renée Furrer later turned to painting. She attended various
art schools, where her work led her to produce "Travel Sketches" reflecting her
impressions of Asia. After studying art history at the university of Geneva, she
spent some years at the School of Visual Arts in Geneva before rounding out her
training with courses in engraving. Has exhibited regularly since 1992.

note•
The time of the painting
First comes a rapid and spontaneous time of construction, placing the architectural
elements. This composition, precarious and fragile, barely holds and seems to move,
fall into nowhere.
This present time, scene of towns and lines.
Then comes, the distant time, forgotten, last in nebulous backgrounds, which appears
in enlightened spaces, and then fades again in places marked by traces of texts
: token of a life almost past... signs : paradoxes of a language out of time
These two times, made of duality, dialogues, contrasts, oblige us to pass from one
to the other and show us their necessity, blend of action and emotion.
